Shin'ichi　Isohata He was born in 1962 in Osaka, began to play the guitar at twelve years old, and to learn music theory etc. in 1982. He started to study under Masayuki Takayanagi in 1985, taking lesson of instrumental basis and musical philosophy. He lives in Hyogo since 1993.

His musical activity ranges from classical and popular etc. to noise and abstract. Among them, especially his improvisational guitar music, having approach of abstract jazz and contemporary music, is refinedly and boldly played with his internal visual image and his original theory. His original sound and transparent timbre deeply fascinate many home and foreign listeners.He started "series EXISTENCE"in 1996, which is part of his lifework, aiming at creating aesthetic abstract space combining both the aural and the visual, doing many collaborations with artists from other genres.

1962年大阪生まれ。12才からギターを弾き始めジャズに傾倒、1982年から東京で音楽理論等を学ぶ。1985年から故高柳昌行氏に師事、楽器の基礎と、氏の音楽哲学を学ぶ。1993年から兵庫県在住。いわゆるクラシックやポピュラーの類から、ノイズ・抽象に至るまでその音楽活動は多岐に渡り、特にアブストラクトなジャズと現代音楽的アプローチのインプロヴィゼーション・ギター・ミュージックは、視覚的イメージと独自の理論構成によって精緻かつ大胆に奏され、その独特な響きと透明な音色は国内外の多くのリスナーを魅了している。また、1996年からスタートした「series　EXISTENCE」は、サウンドと視覚との美的抽象空間共有を目指すライフワークとして実践を継続し、他の分野のアーティストとのコラボレーションも多数手がけている。
